My Fox New York reports that the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (.

Two women, represented by their New York injury lawyer Herb Subin, were awarded $7.5 million dollars for the injuries that they suffered after the car they were riding in was struck by a city bus. 1010Wins reports that in 2005, the victims were riding in a car in the intersection of Ocean Parkway Service Road and Avenue U in . After the collision, My Fox New York reports that one of the victims "suffered a punctured lung, spent 16 days in the hospital, and underwent 2 surgeries."

During the trial, 1010Wins reports that the bus driver said the person driving the car was at fault because he claimed that they did not stop at a stop sign. The New York injury lawyer's clients denied his allegations. They claimed that the bus driver was at fault and that he ran a red light just before the car accident. The jury awarded both of the accident victims. One of the victims was awarded $7,250,000 dollars whereas the less injured victim was awarded $250,000.

Their New York injury lawyer was pleased with the decision, however, in a statement he said, "as a New Yorker I am dismayed that the MTA could have saved millions if they had acted reasonably in negotiating a settlement." Before the civil trial, the victims were willing to settle for $3 million dollars, but the MTA refused.

The MTA plans on appealing the verdict.
